Hey guys..
my question might be embrassing but since i dont trust my dr i would like to know wat u guys think about birth controll pills.

I'm around 20 years old and as u guys read before i have this hair pro so i went to dr to see wat is the reason so he said i have a pro with my hermons or wat ever and periode and the solution is birth controll pills. He said they will help me out to controll my periode and stopp losing more hair.

my q is if it is danger to take these pills when ur not married and ur so young. May they cost u a pro in the future and do not have children??

I aksed many ppl and they made me confused and worried and told me these pills are danger and i might not have babies in the future. May this be true or they r just making me confused?

I asked the dr about that and he said thats not true and to relax and take em.

So wat do u guys think. Plz let me know if u have any idea about this cuz i just took a pill and im scared after wat i did hear.

The danger comes one a person is on them for aloooooooooooong period of time like 10 years or something like that. No need to worry about it. And them making you fat is a myth.

BC pills are usually prescibed to females with irregular periods. It's pretty common and like Sam said, if you don't trust you doctor, then it's time you get a new one. You should be alright. Besides, you're only going to be on them for a couple months. Once you people is regular for 2 or 3 months, get off of them. Trust me, it's for your best interest. Being on BC will effect your mood swings. Once you're gotten what you need from them, then just loose them and get on with your life. But either way, you shouldn't be worried about it effecting your pregnancy in the future. A couple months of BC will not have that big of an effect on your uterus or any other part in that side of your body.

I mostly agree with you, and my above post was complete sarcasm.

However, some women are predisposed to react adversely to birth control, even if they are on it for short periods of time.

And don't base your trust on people because they possess neat degrees. ESPECIALLY if said person is going to probe your orifices with sharp metal objects. As has been demonstrated countless times on this board, med-students/doctors can be complete morons too.

My advice would still be to give them a try.

I would never take any control pills.

I had a friend who started taking the pills after she got married, in 6 months of being married she gained double her weight.
I have also heard that it might be harder to get pregnant or maybe the baby will not be as healthy. I am not sure though, thats a word of the mouth.

oh well thats wat I DID i i did ask my friends for advice but everyone is saying something different which made or make me more confused thats way i could not ignore my dr and i started takin these pills. I tought he knows better since everyone is saying something else.

Don't take them. It's not worth all the risks. Birth control pills do make you gain weight. This has been scientifically proven. I suggest you do more research on the subject, but if I were you, I would not take them (mainly because I am a guy..lol)

I may be late in my reply but I don't think you need to worry about taking BC, times have changed and advanced sooo much that you can even use a patch instead of pills. What I'm trying to say is a few years back I was sick with pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital ( I work for a Record label) and had to travel so much that I didn't realize untill the nurse asked me when my last period was that it had been awhile, so I went to my doctor was put on the pill for 3 months and was regular again and never in the last 2 years had a problem and no weight gain but mood swing I would say yes, but I can be a bitch on my cycle with out the pill.

I wouldn't worry just listen to your doctor and take them, also hide them from any BIG mouth friend you have...sorry but too m uch gossip in our coulture.

1) Listen to your Dr. and not to your friends. There has been over 40 years of experience with hormonally-based bc pills. They are safe if you don't smoke and have some other conditions which I am sure your Dr. has already checked you for. There's millions of sites on the web to get the info. Use that.

i had to take birth control...if i didn't it would have ****ed up everything and i most likely would have developed ovarian cancer without it...

It's alright. It's like this in every thread. The conservative vs. the liberal views will always have their way of making these threads interesting. 2) what are these fabulous alternatives? If hair loss is caused by hormones about 95% of the time -- wouldn't the most effective treatments require some sort of (dangerous) hormone therapy?

You can always revert to topical growth stimulants like minoxidil....

However, the effects:
1) it increases your body hair
2) thins your blood
3) is greasy/oily. not fun to apply
4) once you stop using it, you're going to lose your hair again.

not to mention that the temporal ordering is jacked.

You're allowing the follicles to get damaged first, and applying the minoxidil as a means to induce growth on degenerated follicles. whereas with hormone treatment, you're preventing the damage in the first place.

the above explanation assumes that you have a basic understanding of hair loss -- which i'm absolutely, positively certain that you do... since you've already asked that we trust you!


So besides minoxidil...what are the amazing solutions to female hair loss? I really would LOVE to know.. Of these solutions...which are actually practical?

I did try everything, shampoos,Conditions, medicine and everything and nothing worked. So these pills are my last chance.
