I think you have to be a careful driver with any vehicle, especially with a motorcycle.

There isn't a metal shield on a motorcycle to protect you like there is on a car.

There are idiots all over Chicago who ride their motorcycles without a helmet. :crazy:

Yes, I do think they are dangerous. But I also thing that driving in an urban area in general is dangerous. It is not mandatory to wear a helmet in Illinois, however, it is a law that you must wear some sort of eye protection (sunglasses, glasses, etc.). At some point in the future I will purchase a bike, nothing big, just a 600cc or so (Honda of course ;)). And yes, I will wear a helmet.

I will never forget... One time I was on a road trip and decided to stop off at a fruit stand to get some fruit. I saw 2 ambulance emergency vehicles parked and figured some one might have just got heat stroke. I had no idea that in the flower bed that I was standing by, there was a body under a white sheet. Two people were riding on one motorcyle and ran a red light. They got hit and had NO chance of surviving, even though they were wearing helmets.

I will never forget the lifeless hand sticking out of the blanket and since then will never ride a motorcyle around heavy fast moving cars.

I had my co-worker die in a motorcycle accedint last year :( it was 'nt even his fault. One day I was working with him 3 days later I was at his funeral :(

i would never ride on a motorcycle, i actually had a guy cut between the middle of the line like there was a car next to me and the guy sped right thru it, i was so pissed, thats rude

Yes, they r dangerous!!!!!!!!! personally, i wouldn't want any of my brothers to get one but i have to admit.....i like watching guys riding one especially if the bike is a sports bike..now thats bad!!!!.......lol....i think their nice but dangerous!!!

I have been on a motorcycle quite a few times & they are fun. Although, I would never recommend anyone get one because they are too dangerous. Some people get lucky & some people don't. I just don't think it's worth risking. I have known too many people who have died from a motorcycle & many more who have been injured.
