Introduction...tell us about yourself
About me.
I'm a married, mother of two. That's not all I am: I work mainly in marketing for an apartment development/management company. I'm also
a part-time college student majoring in Computer Information Systems (web development). I'm from Detroit, lived most of my life in
Wyandotte (suburb of Detroit), moved to Ohio for college, met my husband there and then moved to the Flint area (my husband is from Grand Blanc).
I don't live in Flint, but a nice suburb of it. We have a few acres and I like our area. We recently purchased chickens. The chickens are actually
part of a restuarant idea my husband has, "EGGstraordinary". All egg dishes from our organic eggs. Anyways, that's
another story for another time. I'm a busy person. I've been described as tenacious, fun, sarcastic and loyal. I'm obsessive
compulsive about cleaning and being on time, I have anxiety, but who doesn't, right. Anything else you want to know, just inquire.
I'm not shy.

2) Favourite Member/s
I haven't been here long, but I like reading JERKface, Renee, Cathy, Xeno and Hadeer's posts.
3) Most Interesting Member/s
Renee - What a biotch! I love that!
Hadeer - I like his raport and his colorful choice of words. When he speaks (or types), I can clearly envision what he is saying.
4) How did you find CC?
I was researching Chaldean beliefs and practices and came upon this site. I thought how better to learn about Chaldeans than to just ask them. My brother is engaged to a Chaldean woman. I researched her background so I knew what our family was expected to do during the engagement/wedding process.
5) What is your biggest desire at the moment?
To be satisfied and content. Also to be confident in my religious beliefs. I'm questioning the political part of catholocism and opening my options up to other religions.
6) What experiences in your life have contributed to who you are today?
I lost my parents to a murder/suicide when I was 10. My brother and I were raised by my aunt and uncle. Without a doubt, that has contributed to who I am today: the positives and the negatives.
7) Who was an inspiration to you as a child?
Mrs. Palazzolo - 6th grade teacher. It was this teacher that saw my talents and followed up with me until I graduated from college.
So far what have you observed about the middle eastern culture? Heritage is still a strong part of their lives even though they have been "Americanized". I admire that. Morals and family values are priority. I'm working so hard to instill these vaules in my kids. People today need instant gratification and material things to be happy - I want my kids to experience life at a different level than that.
9) What is 1 thing you regret doing/not doing in life?
Ohh . . . this is tough. As you will see, one of my issues with myself is I'm never content. I wish I would have taken my education further before having children. I have a degree, but I'm not satisfied with it. So now, I have two kids and am back in school!
10) What do you do on your spare time? Spare time?
Are you serious? I work, I own a house (which means I'm responsible for taking care of it), I have two small children (a four year old and a
17 month old) and I'm in college. I guess inbetween all of those things, I like to squeeze in some Chaldean Chat and Inkednation chat time (usually while doing homework), I do photography and cake decorating as a side job, but at my leisure, and I research everything! Yes, everything. For instance, do you know why flamingos are pink? Because they eat so much shrimp! Found that out on one of my researching adventures. My research hasn't made me smarter, it's just made me full of useless information.
11) Do you play any Instuments (not including body parts)
So skin flute doesn't coun't? Yep: cello and bass guitar. I played first chair cello at Blue Lake for two years and I played bass in jazz band in high school than for a girls band for a bit of time in college.
12) Do you believe in disciplining a child (common slap on the hand, butt, etc.) or do you thing grounding them is the best thing?
I think that children thrive on discipline. I think that if they know what is and isn't acceptable, they are more confident in their decisions. When there are clear and concise consequences, your discipline is more effective. I think the form of discipline varies with the personality of the child. My kids are small, so we haven't reached the grounding stage yet. Right now, we do time outs and we take away privleges like a favorite toy. I have spanked my daughter recently, because she laughed at me in time out and said, "I don't care - take the doll. I'll get it back eventually." She continued to be disrespectul to me, so I swiped her bottom. Not hard and it's not my first resort of discipline. I'm still not sure how I feel on physical discipline as we teach our kids not to hit.
13) Do you beleive in "heaven" & "hell"...if so what do you think theyre like?
I do believe in both. Heaven is a very serene and calm place. It's a place where we reconnect with loved ones and experience an overall feeling of comfort. I want to go to Hadeers heaven! Hell I see more like purgatory and a very sad and lonely place.
14) What would you do if u caught your kid masturbating?
Depends on where it was that I caught her/him. I would explain that it's something we do in private and it's to be kept personal. I think the worst thing you could do is to criticize. I believe this could cause distorted sexual feelings like shame. I would open up the door for conversation.
15) Do you beleive in reincarnation..if so what form would you come back as?
I'm not sure, quite honestly. I want to say no, because it doesn't really agree with my upbringing. Part of me wants to say yes because it just seems more efficient to recycle soles - that's quite a bit of soles to be responsible for, otherwise! Five babies are born into this world every second. Although, two to three die. So, that's about a 50% success rate! Again . . .I'm still trying to figure that out. Any guidance is appreciated. If I could come back, I'd like to come back as a dog. They are one of the best treated animals and they have personalities and a social group.
16) What is the worst thing someone can say to you?
"I'm sorry, but Raigan and Gavin have died."
17) What are your pet peeves?
This changes periodically, but right now it's when someone says they got their pet, "fixed". THEY WERE NEVER BROKEN! When people are late.
18) Is there any stereotypes about the Irish that are true?
Most of them are drinkers. *Cheers*
19) If you could have dinner with anyone in the world who would it be & why?
Jesus - as long as it wasn't the last supper! Why? Well if it could be with anyone, why not have it with the person who has all of the answers.
20) Can you fall in love more than once?
Absolutely. We aren't lobsters - humans are capable of loving more than one person. (More useless information - lobsters only have one mate in their lifetime.)
21) It's Been said the end of the world will be on Dec 21 2012...what will you be doin that day?
Wow, that's over four years from now. I'm not quite sure what I'm even doing this weekend. If you mean will I live that day like it's my last - probably not. I don't believe in predictions like that.
22) What magical power do you wish to have?
Turn back time.
23) What advice would you like to give men concerning women?
We are a complex, hormonal mixture of cells that varies from person to person. I don't like stereotypes like women are materialistic or women only like jerks. That really is an ignorant statement. I think that men that say this need to change what they look for in a woman and maybe broaden their horizons. Also, realize that the little things really are a big deal. For example: my husband did the dishes the other day and I was ready to jump his bones for it! At this point in our life, this is a big deal because we are so strapped for time.
24) Whats your Chineese Zodiac sign & do you think its "you"?
Ox for both my inner and secret animals! This means the Ox description should be accurate. According to Chinese Zodiac, you can fall within two animal categories based on the time of day you were born and the actual day. Definition: Dependable, calm, methodical, patient, hardworking, ambitious, conventional, steady, modest, logical, resolute, tenacious. Can be stubborn, narrow-minded, materialistic, rigid, demanding. Yeah, that sounds accurate!
Conclusion...final thoughts
Thanks for this opportunity. I think that the values of your culture shine even in a chat room. It's what attracts me to you.
