Armando Galarraga, RHP (0-0, -.
--) Tigers (4-10) @
C.C. Sabathia, LHP (0-2, 11.
57) Indians (5-9)
Scouting Report:
Tigers: Galarraga will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to make his second Major League start. He'll take the place of Dontrelle Willis, who went on the 15-day disabled list with a hyperextended right knee. The 26-year-old Venezuelan, won each of his first two starts this season at Triple-A Toledo, allowing three runs on seven hits over 12 innings with 11 strikeouts.
Indians: In a big contract season, the 2007 Cy Young Award winner has endured one of his career's toughest stretches to open the season. Struggling greatly with his command, Sabathia has yet to win, pitching poorly in each of his three starts. Whether the pressure is getting to Sabathia cannot be said so early, but his 3 2/3 innings Friday against the A's was his shortest stint in nearly two years. Lifetime against the Tigers, Sabathia is 13-8 with a 4.30 ERA.

Justin Verlander, RHP (0-2, 6.
52)
@ Fausto Carmona, RHP (1-1, 2.
20)
Scouting Report:
Tigers: This was not where Verlander expected his stats to be three starts into this season, but to some extent, he has pitched better than his record. He allowed a run on two hits over his first seven innings last Saturday at the White Sox before he lost his command in the eighth inning. He ended up being charged with six runs over 7 2/3 innings en route to the first three-game losing streak of his career.
Indians: Carmona followed up a pair of outstanding starts with a startlingly wild loss against Oakland Saturday night. Blaming faulty mechanics, Carmona walked a career-high eight hitters while allowing three runs over just 3 1/3 innings. No Cleveland starter in 15 years had walked as many hitters in a game. Carmona says his arm was getting away from his body, which led to an inconsistent delivery. The team hopes the 24-year-old right-hander will be able to correct his delivery during his bullpen session between starts. In eight career outings against Detroit, Carmona is 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA.
