Yes there should!! Just look at what's going on nowadays in schools. There is so much hate, violence and death. *Need I say more?

This might sound a bit rude, but if everyone was Christian here I would be for it too, but I personally don't want to spend 5-10 praying next to someone who is going to pull out a rug and start chanting. *

Plus, that's why there are private schools.

LOL, you meant prayer as in someone like a teacher making you pray a prayer? If so, then I don't agree only because even if we were all Christian... we are different types of Christians and don't believe in the same thing. I thought you meant should we be able to pray in schools if we wanted to, whatever religion you may be. Some people may do this on breaktime, lunch, etc. Students are barely allowed to say "God" in school anymore without getting protested. That I believe is idiotic.

who/s prayer? Catholic, evangelical Christian, Islam, Hindu, Jewish?

And would prayer stop the hate and violence? What if it were an Islamic prayer inciting Jihad?

I give it 10 years until Christianity all together is outlawed in the USA.

I highly doubt that. *That would violate the Consitution.

Wow Ojeen. How far did you have to look to find a four year old thread?

Anyway, my answer is obviously no. Realistically it wouldn't make any sense to have prayer in a public school. It would never work.

Yes.

If kids want to pray in school they should be able to pray, not during the middle of a lesson, but at a time that is free time for them. Obviously it wouldnt be forced as far as which specific religion or prayer, but kids should NOT be told that they CAN'T pray just because they are on public school property.
