Yesterday in class we were discussing whether death penalty should be executed.

ANYWAYS… YES OR NO... AND YOUR FEED BACK... You know the routine.

I said no because executions cost a lot of money. That money can be used for more important things such as health care or education.

It costs less to keep an inmate in prison for life.

Killing is killing, no way to change it.

Also, the dealth penalty is a punishment for the poor who cannot pay for better lawyers in their defense.

This also has a reverse effect. If we are trying to stop killers by executing them so we can scare people from killing, isn't the execution reversing this process by saying death is an acceptable form of punishment?

Adios.

I say yes. *and execution doesn't cost a lot of money. *fi convicted, take him/her out in the back yard and shot that mofo. *total cost:

one bullet: 3.50
one gun: about 400.00
one less murderer: priceless

I didn't say all rich people get out. But most do.

And those injections are very expensive.

I'm weird in a way that I'd much rather have cruel and unusual punishment than the death penalty, I would love to see murders, rapists and child molesters get the crap kicked out of them and just have them suffer their entire lives. *I don't know how many of you know this but most inmates have better health and get more excercise than we do. *Prison inmates, are allowed to recieve mail from all kinds of people, they get three healthy meals a day and get cable tv. *I'm sorry but isn't the purpose of being in prison is not having freedom or the luxuries of being free? *There is this one Sheriff, I don't remember his name or what state he is in but he treats his inmates like actual inmates. *He feeds them bologna sandwiches (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and *he is also brining back chain gangs. *He said he is not going to treat his inmates better than our troops over in Iraq (of wherever they are) are being treated. *So I guess I wish they would take all the inmates on death row (because it actually costs more money to keep them on death row, than to kill them) and put them in a gas chamber and gas them all. *Also our hard earned tax dollars are helping to bring those inmates cable and internet and God knows what else!

^That was cute. *Wrong, But cute. *The reason the death penalty often ends up costing more than a hefty prison sentence, is due to the slow process of appeals. *When one is sentenced to death, they are entitled to an appeal, which requires a higher court to re-examine the case in its entirety, and decide whether or not the sentence is appropriate. *Because it is in the Defense Attorney's financial interest to prolong this process as well, they often attempt futile appeals. *Judicial, court, lawyer fees accumulate and then are burdened by the state rather than the criminal, as he ends up broke long before the appeals process. *So when people say it costs: ~$200,000 to carry out a death sentence. *99% of that is lawyer/court fees. *The chemicals don't really cost much money. *lol.

I said no becus I think that in our religion you must forgive, although you have people like Timothy McVeigh and Osama Bin Ladan that comit such focked up crimes, they also are people, not exactly people in the right mind but most definitly people, and the deserve forgiveness. *I mean thats what a lot of catholicism is about.....FOrgiveness.

Also last time I checked none of uss are God. *We have no right to eliminate his creations. *Maybe he sent people like that to us becus he wants to prove a point of something. *Bottom Line_ We are not God therefore we shouldn't have the right to eliminate anybody.

Those criminals have done something really bad to get a death penalty and the way I see it is, they deserve to rot in jail rather than just end their lives "peacefully". Then there is the whole innocent people thing, i mean if you kill them you can't do anything about it anymore.
although in denmark jail is a not a very bad place. I mean they have tv, video games, gyms and all sorts of things. it's like living at home and not being able to get out :P not so bad ha?!

TROY, Mich. -- A friend of a 20-year-old woman who was beaten to death in her Troy home this weekend said it is "real hard" to accept her murder. "How do you believe something like that would happen to your best friend for 11 years?" said friend Razeen Sorisho.

Leila Kristine Armin, 20, was beaten in the head several times with a baseball bat and stabbed Thursday night in her family's home on Pondway Street, Local 4 reported. Her boyfriend, Amir Aziz Shahideh, 24, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death Sunday.

Armin, a Wayne State University student and graduate of Troy High School, was described as the "best girl you will ever meet" by Sorisho. Her friends said she was very popular, and her father is a well-known doctor in the area.

Police believe an argument over her relationship with Shahideh led him to allegedly strike her with a baseball bat Thursday night. Troy police Detective Sgt. Suzanne Post said the man allegedly went downstairs to Armin's kitchen, obtained an 8-inch kitchen knife, and stabbed Armin in the chest.

Shahideh allegedly cleaned up the crime scene, and put Armin's body into a garbage bag, Local 4 reported.

Armin's family was out of town at the time, and called police to report their daughter missing Friday when they had not heard from her, according to Local 4 reports. Police went to the home Friday night, and discovered evidence of foul play. * Armin's body was later found in a garbage can, hidden near the house, according to police.

Shahideh was arrested late Friday night in connection with Armin's death, according to Local 4 reports.

Shahideh was ordered to be held without bond by Magistrate Clement J. Waldmann. He will be held at the Oakland County Jail pending a preliminary examination, which has not been scheduled.

SO DOES THIS ASSHOLE DESERVE TO DIE AND GO TO HELL.. OR BE JAILED...

SO those of you who say no to death penalty what about the ones that there is hard evidence against??

But you ever been put in the position would you send a loved one to death row?? *

Now this is when the idea changes.
Most of you feel as though "yes take them down" only because its a complete stranger. *

But when you put a loved one in this senerio can you do it? *Its like someone asking you to put your pet to sleep. or take off a family member off of life support.

yes i agree with it, but after the person is sentenced for it, and found guilty, how long does it take for the person to actually go through with it...
