“Only the Dead have seen the end of War” Plato.

As the beauty of Baghdad’s sun was shinning the next day despite the reckless and merciless bombardment on this ancient cradle of civilizations, I decided to take my bike around the block to see what has been done. As you all would expect, my mother was certainly yelling at me to avoid me going one step away from the house. *Being a curious child, I got on my bike and off I went. *I felt like I was in a jail for so long and I wanted to see more than just my house. *So I was riding my bike to the end around the block and suddenly I heard the sirens come on!!!! I was like, in the middle of the day? And man oooh man....you study in medicine when your sympathetic nervous system kicks in and how the processes in your heart, muscles and so on begin to increases initiating “ fear, fight, flight” mechanism. *Let me tell u, I was scared as hell, I was riding my bike fasssst as hell. *I rode it fast and came straight home, my family was waiting for me. *I got off my bike and my mom hugged n kissed me…went inside the house and prayed as we started feeling the affect of the bombs once again.!!

COPIED AND PASTED by Senalko

OK here is one of many stories that i got....

When they took us to the army back in 91 to be part of Saddam's Student Militia, we had to do Certain type of Training to recieve a Certificate of Success ( khoosh Teez ) loooool

The training was a peice of cake stuff like playing with Klashinkovs, doing some fitness excerices, playing cards all day long, So we all thought Geez that is so damn easy....

then one day we were visted by a jerk called Ali Kemyawi lol, i am sure u know him, from that day on, everything changed....

the next day, they all took us in Buses and told us today we start the real training ... They took us to Jadirya Bridge in Baghdad, they lined us up one by one on the Bridge, and then said " ok guys, now off u go, what u gota do is jump into the River and swim to safety"

i shit my pants, some guys were crying like babies.... the Bridje was very highhhh and the Current is Strong, unless u are a very good Swimmer, u will just drown.... we had no choice, they took us one by one and off we went...

Luckily, most of us were good Swimmers, the water looked Scary from above, but once your in the water, it was easy to Swim it off and to the shore.... Sadly though, one kid didnt make it.... he couldnt Swim what so ever.....

at the end of the day, it wasnt this type of Training that hurt us, but it was the fact that all the officials stood by and watched the kid Drown without moving one eye , as if we were just some animals.... from that day on, we realised the kind of people we were dealing with....that was just the begging.....

Some more Stories to come

lol..no dude, i was 8 years old when the first war took place. *One of many stories that i clearly recall is of course the first nite of the bombing. *The iraqi radio and TV was Sporadically announcing the time of the bombardment. *At first they said it was gonna begin at noon, and noon comes and nothing happens, than they announced it to be at 3 afternoon, and nothing happened, and than they said it was suppose to start at 6, nothing happened. *Finally my family and I, along with my uncle and two cousins, sat around the living room glued to the TV, seeing whats goin on. *My dad told my mom to take me, my brother and younger sister to sleep. *Prior to this, we decided that all of us will sleep in one bed room. *So u got 9 people stuck in one bedroom. So anyways, my mom took us to bed and I remember it was around 11:55, exactly 5 mins later, I look at the window, and it was red as blood, the house jumped up and down, and a loud noise that left my ears deaf for like two mins. *All this happened with in a matter of seconds. *I thought death was near. *This was happening for the next 43 days with some interesting twists in it. Like any other Iraqi who survived this tragedy, I certainly believe that God was guarding our house with his hands protecting my family and I. *and it was during this time that my father and mother read the gospels to us and this is how I got introduced to the teachings of Christ. * *I certainly thank God for going threw this because it taught me allot about life. * *I got more stories if u guys wanna hear em…they get really intresting..lol

Thanks for the tread! *:alright:

As i said before, we don't know what its like, and we NEED to know!

God bless and thanks for sharing, iam sure its not easy to bring up bad memories, but its very important for people to hear this. *I half to admit, we American born Chaldos/Assyrians are a little spoiled and complain about stupid stuff. *We need to realize how easy we have had it compared to you guys. *

I cant even imagine what its like for my cousins who are still there till this day. *
Pleas pray for there safety and a Free Iraq.

Proud... the guy that shot Uday was a Shiia guy who had no personal vengence against him. He did out of a 'patriotic obligation' as he put it. We interviewed him for Voices of Iraq (a short description of his story is in the movie). He said he did it because he felt it was necessary.

Him and another guy shot him in a marketplace on Rawad St (I think). They studied Uday, he came to that marketplace regularly on Thursdays. Then one Thursday the guy and his friend got some big guns, put them in duffel bags, and went down there. They walked up to Uday while he was in his porsche and shot him. I don't know exactly what happened to his friend but I think Uday's bodyguard went after him. They put about 30 bullets in Uday's chest and he still survived. Then they just walked away and blended into the crowd. Nobody said anything to them because of course everyone hated Uday.

Saddam's people shot and killed most of the guy's family as payback for what he did. He ran away to Iran and they followed him there. He had like 3 bullet wounds. He now came back to Iraq after the invasion.

wowowo MISS i realy like to know what guy u have interviewed, cuase as far as i am Concerned, that is not really What happened....

the people that shot Ouday were 3 guys, they were all shi3as's but they were from the Communist party and they had motives to do it...

have u ever heared or seen Saddam's First Double? he is lives in America these days.... he can tell u alot about everything....

yeah i got plenty proud seriously my dad has told me soo many,

he used to tell me how they would catch ppl that were like spies from other countries like sudia arabia and kuwait, and they would torture them

but my dad wouldnt be involved because he used to work as a transporter, that took the ppl captured to the safe houses for say, and he was on hand with the "boss", but man he tells me how bad the soldiers used to beat ppl not cool *:no no:

his job was very scary because he would be goin back and forth between jordan and the other countries and if they found out he was for the secret service he would be killed *:disgusted: *so thank god he was good, but many times they did stop my dad and ask if he was workin for the govt and he would have to lie, and say no *:?

I don't know his name off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure it was only him and 1 other guy. I know for a fact that Dawaa and many other parties strangely claimed they had done it. He mentioned that.

But the people that set this interview up in Iraq are *VERY reliable sources*. Also he gave so many details and also showed his bullet wounds. I don't believe the other versions of the Uday shooting story.

ok miss.... i wont go into it.... better leave it for the dead...i would still Question those sources, and u might be correct,,, but iam 100% sure that Saddam's first Double played a big part in organising this attempt as a revenge for his wife who was tourtured and killed by Ouday....

Before this assasination attept, those same guys tried an earlier attemp, when they tracked Ouday to a house where he used to bring in Prostiutes, and they planned to attack him but they were met by ouday's body guards who were inside, as a result, the guy's brother was killed.....in seeking Revenge Ouday wiped out his whole family and all fled to iran....

has he mentioned anything to u about that?

look wether he was a Transporter or not, he worked for Mokhabarat and he did the dirty work.... i know what ransporters did in iraq.... my neighbour was one..... not only they would do what u described, but soemtimes they would send them into missions to spy on others, and to some extent even carry out assasination attemps.....

i am Glad your dad got out of this mess Alive... not many of his peers would have survived :)

The day i met Ouday :

If u ask yourself, what does a 10 year old kid and the son of the president of iraq have in common, You would have been puzzled for a while....

like many 10 year olds, i was unforunate that i had to become part of this man's life.. a Lunatic who thrived on raping 12 year old girls, and abducting girls from schools and universities as he wishes....

my first Encounter with Ouday was back in 1988... it was During a soccer game in baghdad's main Satidum...i was *a mad socccer follower, to the extent i would never miss any games played .....

My uncle used to be a Camera man at the games so his Camera had to be stationed close to where Ouday sits so he can get him on TV more than the actual game itself.... i used to help my uncle with the Wiring and holding the lenses and simple things.....

When i saw ouday come in, i thought to myself... jesus christ, this is the ugliest monkey i have ever seen in my life..... he never had a smile on him.. he looks at everyone in the eye and gives the dirty look....after that day, i never wanted to see him ever again or go to any games..

But my Love for the gameeeeee cost me more than i thought.... i was a crazy soccer follower to the extent that i used to run away from home to play with my friends on the streets until midnight..... my dad was worried, he had to find a soloution for me....

so he enrolled me at one of iraq's good Clubs called al Rasheed.... its a very expensive club that has alot of youth academeys and schools that teaches kids to play the game...

I had the best time of my life there, i made some great friends and my dreams were coming True, just seeing some of iraq's top players come to the club and give us some lessons....

All that fun and i never thought for one second that this whole Club was owned by Ouday himself.....

Everything was great until the competition seseaon started... Ouday used to invite alot of Youth teams from arabic countries to play against us...

he was so obssesed with his Club, that he seeked a win at all Cost, starting from the Senior team and going through to the kids team....

As a team, we were very talanted bunch, so we rarely lost a game.... i wish we had.....

one time, we were playing a team of Egyptian kids who were thought to be the best team going around.....Ouday bein his usual self, drunk and obbsesseive is thought to have told our Coach that we must win at all cost, anf if we do, we are going to get rewarded big time...

Well we did Win.. we Smashed the Egytians by 6 goals to one...

when ouday heared about this, Our coach told us that Ouday will stick to his promise and we will all be rewarded....

they took us on a bus and told us we going to a urprise location to Celebrate.... they took us to Al Rasheed Hotel.... it was my first ever visit there... i was impressed by what i saw....

they took us to a hall and there, there was plenty of food, drinks, music, so we ate and playeddddddd and made noises......

Ouday was thought to be at the Hotel that night.... he ordered all the team to gathar for a Tour......

they took us upstairs through some narrow tanels where we were exposed to a very large reception that was full of Billard games, and Bowling Centre.....

we wondered around, and as every kid would do, we were Curious as hell to explore the place......

we came across some rooms that had alot of noises coming from it.... we thought this must be another partying room.... so we had no hesitation in Entering.......

What we saw in those rooms, probably changed our lives for ever... we came across a room full of Naked Woman, most of them had a lebense accent, but also they were some iraqi girls..... they were doing some horrible things to a group of men, one of the men screamed at us to get out and was chasing us whist his balls were hanging loooool

that night made us all realise what sort of person we were dealing with.... we knew that the older we are to get, the more trouble we will face.... we didnt want to play anymore, but we had no choiceeeeeee

my First encounter with Ouday's mistresses was one to Remember for ever... and i am Glad i shared it with you :)

More Stories to come :)

wowowo can i have that pic mate? that is an awsome pic and one for collections...

well i was neither zawra or jawiya supporter.. i grew up with al rasheed Club, even though ouday owned this club and later closed it, my heart was still with the Yellow army so i went on to suport a club Called " Al-Karkh"...

but i enjoyed watching the Zawra-Jawiya games.....

after the gulf war, Ouday used to come in every game to watch, but i longer had the fear of him, when i saw him at the start of 92-93 season, he was changed.. his attitude was changed and for a change he was very friendly and smiliing as well.....

it wasnt until i left iraq that my Uncle told me that in fact the person i was seeing from 92-93 wasnt Ouday at all, but it was his Double.....

this shocking surprise led me to trace his double who fled to Europe and after a huge effort, the Double was finally convinced to tell his full Story in a published book.... that book is a must read for all concerned :)

Proud Chaldean ok i will tell u his Story but plz keep it between u , me and the 4 walls loooooooooooool joking galoob...

OK i cant go into full detials but *i will give u a Brief and i will see if Caz agrees with me, after all he is her Relative :)

After the Iraq-iran war ended, as u know Saddam Claimed Victory, and people went crazy Celebrating on the streets for weeks and weeks...

To Celebrate this Occasion, one of the iraqi Ministers had Invited some Arabic Figures which included the Wife of the Egyptian President.. and so a Party was thrown for this occasion which Hana Kamel was in the middle of it....

Ouday's jealously and hatred of Hana was very abvious from the start... Ouday had always threatned to kill him if it wasnt for Saddam's protection...

However what happened on that night wasnt a result of direct jealously or hatred that pushed Ouday to kill him, as Caz Claimed...

Shortly after the war, Ouday fell out with his dad after having heated Arguments about Saddam flirting with the wife of the Iraqi Force Airline Cheif.....

Saddam's wife Sajida was pressuring Ouday to do something to stop his dad... her jealousy was at a high peak, and Ouday was Boiling inside and was ready to Explode....

at that same night of the party which hana was present, The news Came that Saddam had married again... this Drove Ouday insaneeee..... at that time he was in one of the Palaces on the Tigres River.....

he heared shots coming out from the party, and already being Mad, he shouted at his guards to order whoever that idiot who is Firing to stop it... Aparrantly there was a Curfew placed that bans the use of all Fire arms in that area....

the Guards realised it was Kamel hana who was Firing to celebrate, so they ordered him to stop but he refused and told them to F%%% Off as Saddam has allowed him to do it...

the Guards went back to Ouday and told him that Kamal says F**** off sir hehehehe.... u dont need to know the rest....

Ouday went into a wild Beast and he raced down to Kamel and in front of everyone started Swearing at him fullyyyyyy only for Kamel to make fun of him and tell him to go back to where he came from.....

It was reported that Ouday shot Kamel... but he actually didnt Shoot him at all, he Struck his Pistol at Kamel's head Wounding him Fatally and then in a moment of madness he finished him off with a dozen bullets..

It was also reported that Ouday was actually in that party celebrating when he accdently shot Kamel, but thats not True at all...

so there ya go.... Thats his story.....

Later on, if u get me into the mood, i shall tell ya what happened after that, and what Saddam did to Ouday to punish him for what he did :)

actually that is the truth about the mistress, he did hook him up with a lady that oday was in love with or somethin, so of course he couldnt tell the truth, but he built his hatred for my uncle,

saddam placed oday in jail after killin my uncle and he treated him as a criminal, and wanted him to stay there for good,

but ppl representatives from the arab nations came and talked to saddam and told him that its not right to treat his son in this matter, because the person that died after all was a christian, *:no no: *

at least saddam did have a heart at one point in his life * *

so he released his son, but he really didnt want to but he didnt want ppls attention to the matter to come on more *:disgusted:

Here is another good story….
Sometime during the war, the Iraqi radio announced that their was a cease fire. My father decided to go back to our own house (which was 2 blocks away from my uncles house, the house we stayed at during the bombing). *We went back home that night relaxed, and my dad was trying to figure out what was going on with the politics of this war. *So anyways, we went to sleep that night with no worries, even though my dad was very skeptical about the situation. Later on that night we began to hear foot steps on the roof. *That was very unusual because, I mean footsteps, what the hell is that??? *Well, moments later we hear the bombing once again…and we took the same procedures as usual. *As the bombing began, the footsteps continued. *We than heard someone knocking on our front door hard as hell..so at that point, we thought we were done!!! Courageously , my father hid my brother , my sister and I and my mother (she refused, she went with him) they went to open the door and it was my uncle with his two kids yelling to come back to their house. *My dad said no, its too dangerous to run back to their house, so we just stayed at our home. *The foot steps on the roof continued alongside the bombings. *

So next morning, I wanted to see what the hell was on my own roof during bombing. *I went upstairs on my roof (which was huge) and I remember, I saw a bunch of bullets alllllllllllll over the floor….i touched one of em and my hand got burned because it was still hot!! * So anyways, we went outside with my family and my uncle and two cousins. *We were talking about how scary last night was with our neighbor (the only two families that stayed in our block was us and our neighbor). *Suddenly, outta no where, we see about 5 Mercedes Benz tinted in the windows. *The one before the last one, they put the window down and put it up. *It was none other than Yassar Arafat and yes, yours truly Saddam Hussein. *They spent the night at the house right behind us and his dumb ass soldiers were on my roof shooting at planes!!!!!!

We were so thankful for that night because I can honestly say, even though I was unconsciousness about it at the time, that night was perhaps the closets thing to death, if not I should have died. *But God saved us and I believe God has a plan for me in life!!! Till next time….

Nice Story Ojen...Saddam never stayed in one house at a night... he used resedential homes to avoid detection....

Proud Chaldean, after Saddam heared what happened, he got very very mad, and he ordered for the arrest of Ouday... he jailed him for 2 days and was so close to killing him, but Sajida intervened and begged for mercy but what probably made Saddam change his mind is a Pardon appeal from Kamel's family telling Saddam that they want the release of Ouday as they forgave him and wanted him unharmed, which was all a propoganda probably organusised by Sajida.....

However Saddam wasnt goona forget that easily, so he sent ouday into Exile...he sent him to Switzerland as Punishment, but he didnt last 2 days there as he was arrested by Switz police for sexually abusing a woman, so they sent him back to iraq...

after he went back, Saddam isolated ouday.. he destroyed most of his luxury cars and he kept him away from politics so he appointed him minister for sports and he made him open a newspaper to keep him in check and busy ............
