I've just recently discovered my love of dancing. Ya, kinda late eh, but better late than never. :oops:

I just wanted to ask those who live in Chicago for some direction here. What are some good clubs to go to? I'm so not interested in the meat market aspect of clubbing. I just really want to dance \:D/ Any kind of music is fine with me.

Hey Kikhwa, the Chi has many an oppurtunity to get your dance on... I too love to dance. I am really into music and try to hit up my favorite DJ's when they come into town. The two best promoters in our city are Spundae and Pure. They throw quality events with the best in global talent.

If you are looking to dance and enjoy real sweet music, check out Vision's main room on a Saturday night. Now keep this in mind, their main room is not when you walk in. You have to go up three flights of stairs and walk to the adjacent area. This venue had the best layout, soundsystem and music hands down in the city. This party is thrown by worldly renown Spundae.

Thursday's @ Transit also is a pretty good night (in the last month they have hosted Deep Dish and Danny Howells). This night is thrown by Pure.

If you are looking for the purest, underground feel with great sound and music on any given night, hit up Smartbar on Clark and Irving Park Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

I'm not into GLAM clubs, clubs that play top20 hits and hip-hop all night long. All they care about is making $$$ and silicone. :x But if you like this, there is always White Star Lounge on Ontario and Rive Gauche on Halstead.

I was just there and I didn't like the clubs. I didn't know where to go. It's really hard 2 figure out when you are not from there. We went to a couple pubs. McGhee's was cool but Beaumont was a meat market. Then we ended the night at Redno 5. That place sucked... they had good music but I felt like I was in the ghetto. It was all black poeple. The taxi drivers didn't really know how 2 get around 2 the bars we really wanted 2 go to.

BTW, Best place to go out 2 eat after the bar when you are drunk is Tempos. They had an amazing breakfast omellette selection. :angel:

Are you serious dude? I don't know where to begin. First off, have you been to Crobar since the remodeling? Sure, it's nice inside, but the vibe sucks a$$. You have a bunch of touristy types in there looking and acting dumb. The music they play is NOT good house (I'm not a big fan of Teri or Psycho) let alone tribal or disco, or deep... :no no:

Second, what do you do at Zentra, I know some peeps who work there including Rob - I never knew someone else who was Assyrian worked there as well...

Third, does buzz even operate anymore on Mondays? And Big Wig on Wednesdays? Come on...

If you're looking to hiz-hop with hip-hop, you should hit up Rive, WSL or Le Passage on either Fridays or Saturdays.
