What do you guys think about the Pistons this year. Personally I think they have what they lacked last year which was a bench. I think that we have a really good bench this year and that is going to help. Instead of using a 7 man rotation that Larry did, Flip is going to a 10 man which should save some of the starters from wearing out come playoff time. HOLLA BACK EVERYBODY AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Detroit is deeper than ever. They have a deeper team than the past 2 seasons, and there's more experiance therethan people think. Me and my girl were talking about it and she was like "We have a badass bench" lol, and I really thought about it and it's true. McDyess is capable of starting on half of the teams in the League, and Carlos Arroyo and Lindsay Hunter both have experiance as starting Points Guards. Not to mention Maurice Evans, Carlos Delfino and Darko are all getting better and that will benefit the starters later in the season. I think they'll be better than people think and they'll be right there in the end with Miami and Indiana, and I think they'll be better then most people think they'll be.

Daaam...thats sooo awsome how a team can have a good bench...it keeps everyone fresh and not all shut down u know.....just like the Broncos are doing with theIR running backs  ..they put in Mike Anderson...the slugger and tuff of a runner...hes the one who could get those tuff yards and wont go down after one hit but after two or three hits...and all the sudden BAM...Tatum Bell is in..the speed...this guy was clocked at 4.34 in his 40...dam that boy is too quick lol

I MISS THEM  I miss all those times when we would go to Champs and yell louder then the guys. I miss all the times when we would make bets on who would win. I miss calling my dad and saying "Oh in your face dad". I also miss winning bets with Steponose... the poor kid lost every bet he made with me.
WHY? OH WHY? WHY DOES THE SEASON SEEM FOREVER UNTIL IT COMES???
I can't wait any longer until they are back on the court. I'm freaking watching the Shocks for heavens sake.

ya darko will do better for the magic lol. This team is not gonna do good. Because ur bench isnt deeper. U had hunter and carlos last year, and ur taking mcdyess off ur bench and making him a starter, thus ur losing ur best bench player. And he cant play tons of minutes or it will lead to injuries again. And when he goes down with injury, then what?

You know I wrote this in November right? When we had Darko at the time lol. And we're not taking McDyess off the bench, Rasheed is staying at the Power Forward and Nazr Mohammed is our starting center. I our bench is 8-9 deep with McDyess, Hunter (even though he's up there in age) Delfino, Flip Murray who we just signed, and possibly 1 or 2 of last years draft picks.

Ya but at the same time, the League is really changing the way teams and individual players can play defense, which makes it harder to use your whole body to physically defend a player, which is Ben's specialty. I'm not saying he won't be missed because that's wrong, I just don't think he as big of a loss as people make it out to be. Mohammed obviously isn't the Defensive player Ben is, but Ben has almost ZERO Offensive game, where Mohammed is able to score with his back to the basket, and he can rebound pretty well too. And plus, Detroit played great "Team" Defense. It's not like their defense was going to live and die by how Ben played.
Plus, the league is getting more "Offensive", which means more scoring and less emphasis on Defense for most teams. But Chicago is a really good fit for Ben because Scott Skiles stresses Defense, but they're a little thin when it comes to scoring points. They have 3 players that can get them 20 points a game (Gordon, Hinrich, Nocioni), but where's the rest of the scoring gonna come from? Maybe Umi can help me on this but how are they going to hang with teams that score 100 a game? I mean Detroit's defense has trouble stopping teams like Phoenix, Dallas, the Clippers, etc. But they found a way to outscore them and win a lot of the time. I don't know if Chicago posseses enough individual playmakers to do that, and that's where I think they struggle. Other than that I still consider them a contender.

they are both the same on offense. Nazr wont drop mad points either. Hes a 10 point per game player.
NormieNorm115
08-02-2006, 07:02 PM
Not really. At least with Nazr you don't have to worry about him fumbling the ball or putting up a wild shot when you throw him the ball down low lol. We'll see what happens though man. Look at us talking about Basketball and it's August. We need some more Baseball threads and Football is just around the corner. Screw basketball for now lol.

Towards the end of the season they came on top 5. I think it was the last couple of months. Still not bad. Nobody on the Bulls team drops 20 a nite. Now that still not bad.
