For the first time i had MI baklawa and i must say it is THE BEST!!! My friend's brother came to visit them for Christmas and I was over her place too.. so they gave me a big plate to take home. how nice of them.
i cant believe i ate like 4 pieces and didnt wanna share any of it with my husband lol.. because he'd eat it all! lol

So I make it again and think to myself how many freaking calories are in this. So the recipe is something like this:

1 lb of butter
1 lb of pistacchios
2.5 cups of sugar
2 lbs of phyllo dough.

The total calories for a tray of baklava by this recipe is about 12,200. Thats the total daily caloric intake of 6 average women. So then I figure that I cut the baklava into diamonds and I get about 30 pieces. That means that each piece is about 400 calories. Now seriously, who can eat just 1 piece!!!

I haven't made it since. :x

Well its still not as bad as a donut...but its still pretty bad. whenever I am faced with a sinful treat like this I try to savor every bite and make it last longer, then I won't eat as much.

Besides, its home made, more worthy of the calorie expenditure.

I don't like Baklava because I use to eat it so much when I was younger that now I don't really care too much for it. I LOVE that Kinenafer stuff I don't kno if thats what its called exactly. It has like that white filling with the noodles yummmy
