Does age matter in the work field?

Do people view someone that's older to be more qualified for a job? My co-worker and I were discussing this earlier this week and I found it quite interesting on how the older candidate was automatically viewed much more experienced due to him looking older. Although the younger applicant had obviously had more experience in the profession, he was still considered less qualified because on the lack of gray on his head.

What do you think? When interviewing candidates for a position, do you think people purposely look for someone that looks more experienced or does the qualification on paper matter most?

So, I recently broke up w/ my Chaldean bf. He was talking about marriage and I am not ready for that. I'm in my early 20's!!!! :shock:
Anyway, I decided to date non-seriously for the first time in my life (Crazy @ this age, I know HAHA). I met this gorgeous Italian goofball and things were going great so far. EXCEPT today he said "I think you probably want to marry a Chaldean guy" (true) "and I don't want to be the guy who's just for fun" (he was supposed to be just for fun D: ) "so there is no point of dating you when you're not gonna be w/ me.... so do you think you're gonna marry a Chaldean guy?" I was like "I don't know. I'm taking it day-by-day!" I was SHOCKED! I didn't expect him to be thinking about marriage. He's only 26!

UGH! I don't want to marry him, BUT I want to keep him for now though!! :( Should I a) not waste his time and tell him I don't see us getting married? This will be really sad for me. b) tell him later on before things get more serious but we have our fun now

Oh we work together so if we break up, it'll be pretty awkward.

How do you feel about relationships ? Are you the type of person that is emotionally strong ? Does it take time, to get emotionally invested in a relationship? and etc. Do you need someone else to complete you ? Like your other half, or are you fine flying solo ?

For me If i am in a relationship, It takes time for my emotions to be hundred percent invested. Love is overrated these these days, Because people say it without really thinking and what the meaning behind it is. When you tell someone you love them, you should stand behind those words,it's not just the feelings. Be there for them when they need you, putting time into the whole relationship, ( seeing them, talking to them..etc ) basically they'd be your best friend.

Anyway, SO do you guys need someone to complete you ?
Do u like to be in a relationship? Does it comfort you ? Or you'd rather stay single ?

Hello everyone

first post !! not sure where i should classify this post

i was born and raised in london, my mother is jordanian christian and my father was iraqi assyrian, he died when i was 9

my mother and father didnt really get along, and so my mother never really wanted to talk about him, and from the things she said to me about him i dont blame her - but i remember him vividly, and i still miss him 25 years later.

i went to jordan for the first time in 20 years a few weeks ago and really re-connected with my jordanian side, and now i want to connect with my other half, which i recently found out is Chaldean. Ive never met or heard of anyone from my fathers side.

now that i am old enough, my mother is prepared to talk to me about him - although she is scared i might go over to iraq to find anything out about him. right now im trying to locate any family related to him.

The problem is that I know that he changed his name (slightly) when he moved here in the UK in the early sixties to go to Cambridge University.

apparently when he died (1983), the iraqi embassy here in london suggested to my mother that she sends all his official paperwork and passports to them and that they would "take care" of it. months later she heard nothing from them. when she enquired where the papers went they said they didnt know.

other than that - i really dont know much. i visited an assyrian priest in amman to get some help. but he said he really needs to know his iraqi name - not the british one.

getting information from my mother is very difficult but i found out that his first name was not **** but in fact ********. I told this to an assyrian priest in Amman Jordan and also to a Chaldean Priest in London. Both said they would try but that they needed more info. also apparently my father was very very secretive and didnt like to talk to her about any of his family in Iraq.

Right now i am waiting for Cambridge University to write back to me with any details/transcripts/clues, as to his real name - i thought maybe

the search continues ....

i guess my first question is, has anyone here heard of the family name ******** from Kirkuk/Mosul ? or can anyone recommend where to look for chaldean names in mosul and kirkuk ?

as an american christian i married a chaldean from al kush .as soon as she got through college and can support herself i found out that she was sleeping with a black man and she soon after devorced me and had this black man move in with her .and exposed our daughter to her filthy life .i want to know if this is common in the chaldean way of life .i was thought chaldean woman were respectful to there traditions

I get light stains on my teeth despite me brushing my teeth twice (sometimes three times) a day, and flossing everyday. My teeth are healthy, but they get stained very quickly. I hardly drink tea or coffee.
