Advise for Dating Chaldean Woman - Assyrian

I'm a Puertorican guy and I've gone out in several dates with a Chaldean woman for the last 2 months and I'm really into her. I've learned some Arabic and I have read a lot about her culture but I feel that I don't completely understand her yet. We are both highly educated professionals. I would like to understand which are the rules for dating Chaldean women? I was shocked already when I invited her to come to visit me to Puerto Rico and she mentioned that she can't travel with a guy unless she's married to him. I haven't even tried to have sex with her because I don't know what even are the rules about that in the culture and I really don't want to make a big mistake. Also, she mentioned that she can't marry someone unless her family approves and her mom always thinks that nobody is good enough for her, so considering that I'm from another culture; what are my chances of being able to marry her? I'm catholic and my culture is also very family oriented so I have seen lots of similarities between our cultures. Thanks for your advise!

Well, it's definitely not easy. You will need a lot of patience and understanding. Plus, not every family is the same. Some will be fine with the guy as long as he is educated, established, and Catholic. Some are much more strict. For example, my parents did not even like one guy I was seeing who was Chaldean and an engineer! Why? They want to pick the guy out themselves. -_- In brief, it depends on the family. If her parents are more traditional, best of luck to you because you will need it!
