confusion regarding birth control

Hi Everyone,

I am a little confused today. I am well aware of the church view on pre-marital sex. However, I was really not that clear on whether or not it is a separate and additional sin to use birth control. Someone recently advised me that it is a sin for even a married couple to use birth control. Really??????...... I asked my grandpa and he said it is even a sin to pull out!! G wiz, I don't know what to do anymore. I am going to text Kasha Jimmy for guidance, in the meantime I would appreciate any comments or advice on what I should do in lieu of birth control or what birth control I can use that might be ok per the various religious authoritys. Let me know by tonight everyone.

I would tell you what I think, but I don't think you'd like it so I'm gonna keep quiet.

one word of advice though.. it's your life.. not theirs or ours.

I don't think birth control is or "pulling out" is a sin...

maybe if you are a hardcore Christian.. but if you are then you would not even agree of masturbation and you'd think the "wasted semen" is "potential kids" that you just killed.

but in reality, that is not true. a "semen" is not even close to being a human. Birth control (I think) somehow does not let the egg and the semen unite to create a human... it's like using a condom (to prevent something before it happens)

so I'm not sure why that's a bad thing... However I am sure that most Christians are not okay with abortion or the morning-after pill...

but if you don't want to use birth control then you either decide you want to become a daddy or you don't have sex or masturbate for the rest of your life lol

Chaldeanjk do whatever your heart tells you to do. If you feel like doing it do it. If you don't feel like it - don't do it. Your grandfather belongs to another generation. What he believes is best for him. Listen to every possible opinion and then decide what you want to do for urself.

The Pope recently admitted that the earth is a sphere. 100 years ago it was a planar. May be in 500 years the Pope will say that premarital sex is ok. May be he won't say it.

that is a tough one I would wait for Kasha Jimmy's take on this. I know some people resort to Greek style sex so as to avoid sin.

According to the church, you have sex to procreate, not for anything else.

Umm...I don't understand this....why are you so worried about birth control being a sin when you obviously don't care that sex is a sin? Just seemed like a pointless thread.

the people you ask about sex are not having sex for you...spreading your legs is your own personal choice & the consequences are yours also......askin for advice on birth control or morning after pills etc....is a waste of time....if you NEED to ask & are not educated enough in sex & all of the glorious things that follow through with it (responsibilities) then DONT HAVE SEX until you know everything there is you need to know..without having to ask.

^^ I think he needs the "religious" point of view on the subject.. rather than information on birth control etc..

There is a practice called the rhythm method. Basically, you wait to have sex with the woman just before she is going to have her period. In that stage she is not as fertile. If you want to have a baby, you want to wait until after the period when the woman is most fertile, she's also more sexual at that time as hormones are being released.

Sex isn't a sin. Lust is a sin. If two people love and care for one another, there is nothing wrong with it. If there was no sex, the human race would end.

Yeah. If you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't do it. An example, someone trying to ride a motorcycle for the first time. They are like "I can do it I can do it", and they end up crashing.

You are the epitome of modern mans humanistic thought process. this is exactly what a generation of no fix values is built upon, ME ME and yes it's about ME.

I would encourage you AntiDoll to read Dr. Francis Schaeffer definition of "personal peace" and how it dames society.
