Teeth Whitening

I went to the dentist today and came out with more fillings. So, I got me some of those teeth whitening strips because I love a nice smile. Anyhow, my teeth are so sensitive that this stuff hurts them. Have any of you used a brand that worked very well?

My dentist made trays for me by using a mold of my own teeth, and I use whitening gel inside the trays. It works very well and I don't notice any sensitivity. My teeth stay pretty white though so I don't do it too often. I've used the strips in the past and I don't have the patience to use them every day for 2 weeks. The trays you pay for once and it comes with the whitening gel, then you just get more whitening gel whenever you need it.

That sounds like a good idea Cathy, I'll have to try it out. I'm self conscious of my teeth no matter how much I brush them =/ I've tried the strips and don't have the patience for them.

Don't try whitening your teeth right after the dentist. Especially if you've recently gotten fillings. Give it about a week or two.

I use GOSMILE! It works really really well, but they're a little pricey...they sell it at Saks Fifth Avenue...Its like $80 for a month's supply, but very well worth it...I tried crest strips and all that crap, but they really bothered my teeth...GOSMILE didn't! Good Luck! (:

I got to try that, although my teeth is not yellow but a bit of dark white. But I would like to have that brighter white. lol

Only a dentist can help out us in this situation. A dentist can have a deep checkup of our teeth and according to the situation recommend the best for us. Well laser treatment is the best option for teeth whitening none other will work long and safe then it..

I use Listerine Dissolving White Strips. They are CHEAP and work GREAT.

Usually, the sensitivity is due to brushing immediately before application.

The best things to whiten teeth are hydrogen peroxide and baking soda (no I'm not joking). You can either get something like Colgate Whitening with peroxide and baking soda already in it, or you can put a little bit of peroxide and/or baking soda on your tooth brush and brush for a couple minutes (don't swallow it). Guarenteed to see whiter teeth in a few days.

Okay. I know this is going to sound weird but use baking soda. It tastes nasty at first but you teeth will be white and your gums will be pink it will even make your breath smell good too.

Here's how to make it perfectly.
Get a shot glass and pour water into it.
Mix some baking soda in until it is thick.
Brush your teeth with it and shove it into your gums.

DON'T USE WHITENING STRIPS WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will make your teeth weak. And after a while you will get yellow spots on your teeth...

  • Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. A child's deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. ...

  • Refers to the practice of removal of stains that collect over time on the dentin surface located under the outer tooth enamel. This is done with some form of hydrogen peroxide which varies in concentration. ...
